Privacy Policy
How we handle website information and enquiries.
Last updated: October 24, 2026
About this policy
This policy explains how gsi Real Estate & Planning Advisors Inc. (“gsi”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with this website and enquiries made through it. It also describes information used to administer the website. An engagement may involve additional information and instructions addressed separately with the client.
Information you provide
If you contact us, we may receive your name, business or organization, email address, telephone number, property location, service requested, timing and the details you choose to share. Please provide only what is needed for an initial discussion. Avoid sending identification documents, financial records, confidential reports or sensitive third-party information until we have agreed on an appropriate way to receive them.
How the contact form works
The website’s enquiry form prepares a draft in your own email application, addressed to realestate@gsiadvisors.com. You must review the draft and press Send in that application. Completing the form alone does not submit the enquiry to gsi, and the form does not save your enquiry in a website database.
Your email provider and email application handle the draft and transmission under their own terms and privacy practices. If you use “Copy enquiry”, the text is placed on your device’s clipboard. You can also contact us directly by email or telephone.
Technical information and cookies
When you visit, the website’s hosting and security services may record technical information such as your IP address, requested pages, browser information, request times and error or security events. This information helps operate, protect and troubleshoot the website.
The public pages do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or analytics cookies. The restricted administrator area uses an essential session cookie to support sign-in and security. It also records administrator email addresses, password hashes, account changes, editing activity and page revisions. Security controls use hashed identifiers derived from sign-in email addresses and IP addresses to limit repeated attempts.
You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking the administrator session cookie prevents normal administrator sign-in. Hosting or security services may apply their own essential technical controls.
Why information is used
- To respond to enquiries and discuss the requested services.
- To assess a potential instruction, including the information needed to consider scope and conflicts.
- To communicate about an agreed engagement and maintain relevant business records.
- To operate, secure and maintain the website and administrator accounts.
- To meet applicable legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
Where consent is required, we seek consent appropriate to the information and purpose. Sending an enquiry is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing or other unrelated uses.
Service providers and other disclosures
Information may be handled by personnel and service providers involved in the relevant purpose, including website hosting, IT support, security, email and backup services. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, or with your authorization. A professional engagement may involve additional recipients identified in its scope or agreed instructions.
We do not publish enquiry details through the contact form. Administrator uploads are different: an image or CV uploaded for publication can be publicly accessible by its file address. Administrators should upload only material approved for public use.
Where information is processed
The location of information depends on the services involved. Website hosting, email delivery, security services and backups may involve different providers and locations. We do not promise that every email, service-provider record or backup remains exclusively in Canada. Contact us if processing location is important to your proposed instruction before sending sensitive material.
Retention and safeguards
We retain information for the purposes for which it is needed and to meet applicable legal, professional and business-record requirements. The appropriate period depends on the record and its purpose. Administrator activity records, page revisions and backups may have different retention periods from correspondence.
Safeguards include restricted administrator access, hashed passwords and separation of account storage from publicly served website files. No website, email system or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us to arrange a suitable transfer method for sensitive documents.
Your choices, access and corrections
You may ask about our handling of your personal information, request access or correction, or raise a privacy concern using the contact details below. You may also ask to withdraw consent for a use that depends on consent. We will explain any consequences and any applicable limits, including information we must retain or cannot disclose.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Please do not include identity documents in an initial email; we will discuss what is needed and how to provide it. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for information about privacy rights and complaints.
External links and changes
Links may take you to websites operated by others. Their own privacy practices apply to information you provide to them. This policy may be updated as the website or its practices change; the date above identifies the latest revision. Where a change requires additional notice or consent, that will be addressed as appropriate.
